As we completed the reading and discussion part of the JustFaith study on the Justice System, we were invited to write down what was in our heart. What I wrote went something like - the overwhelming inadequacy of the “system” to prepare inmates to reintegrate into society.
Then we were invited to share it out loud: to what I wrote I added (along with a couple of other things): the reintegration system needs fixing - as does so much with the broken prison system.
Yes, my eyes have been open. So the question may be: where is God in the midst of this brokenness? Perhaps a better question - where am I?
