Taking a “day off” from work to get a start on putting together needed tax information, this prayer seems appropriate:
Almighty God, you are our Lord and King. Yet, we live in a nation of the world that is governed by those we elect to make decisions for others. May the decisions and policies elected officials make be ones of mercy, just behavior, and fairness for all, especially keeping in mind those without voice or influence. Thank you for those who speak out in truth, reminding others of their responsibility to care for the least, the lost and the lonely. This we pray through trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
