Laughter – it’s such good medicine. There was a re-run on television with four comedians – Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. Toward the end of the show, the four just sat and told “real-life” stories – “here’s your sign,” “you might be a redneck if…,” “git ‘er done” – that had me in stitches.
As I listened, I couldn’t help but miss my Father-in-law and his best friend. They would sit for hours and tell stories about adventures in their lives that were almost too crazy to believe, yet would have you laughing until you cried. Real life can be funny, but a great story-teller can make even the ordinary seem hilarious. Thank you to those who share that gift with others. We can all use the laugh.
